We’re becoming ever richer. We are watching with a sense of warmth the growth in the gestures of our young people, their attention to each other, the unfolding of friendships and strengthening of bonds. A home-feeling hovers over our days.
🙨 We are remembering our first sleepover summer camp with feeling of nostalgy. The Írisz Campsite at Izvorul Crisului served as an exciting venue. The colourful program of the days offered inclusive presentations, workshops, eurythmy, morning gymnastic, outdoor games, weaving activities, drama, theme evenings on cinema, disco and bonfire. Next year we will return!
Thanks to the funding of the Diakónia Christian Foundation, we could create another series of rich program. The first station of this was joining the Bible week at the village church. Getting to know the children and young people of the village, playing together, listening to the teachings, we are joining with growing confidence the local Christian community life. The next gathering was held together with the pupils and teachers of class VII. from the Dr. Palló Imre Art School, music profile. Using social painting and the Kett method, we worked with the story of Saint Martin. We were acquainted with the feelings of selflessness, devotion, looking for our talents, our inner light together.
Our group of colleagues grew, to our delight. Margit Murzán is complementing our activities as a gardener. The garden renewed, got richer, more transparent and brought plenty crops through her loving care. Agnes Soó arrived with her many years spent in Camphill communities, her gifts in fine arts, offering beautiful therapeutic sessions for our young people.
Two new volunteers arrived this autumn through the Youth Association from Transylvania, Rachel from Spain and Réka from Hungary. They are getting to know our activities, our young people, they try themselves with the different tasks, so that they can get more and more effectively involved.
In September we held a versatile and meaningful professional training, with the title: “Creating a nurturing and therapeutic environment for body, soul and spirit”. The trainers arrived from Scotland, from Camphill Schools Aberdeen, Viebeke Alfred and Laurence Alfred. They shared their many years of experience in different roles of coordinating, teaching and therapeutic work with the participating curative educators, experts from the social sector, parents. It was a professionally valuable day and at the same time enriching for the soul.
This year’s Run For It fundraising sport event was held again in a great atmosphere with jogging, cycling, walking, followed by eating together and thanksgiving. Our ambassadors were collecting donations so well, that this year again we doubled our target sum. From the collected funds we would like to insulate our garden shed and fit it with doors and windows.
The autumn cannot pass without the wine harvest ball. It was a special joy, that most of our young people put on their traditional dresses, thus giving a special meaning to this celebration. We enjoyed a wonderful autumn procession together with the young people of the Gondviselés partner organisation and the children and adults of the Social Service Centre from Cristuru Secuiesc. We arrived to the courtyard of the Gondviselés, sitting on 4 horse carts, accompanied by fiddle music and singing, where we continued with celebration, harvest dance and a shared meal.
The musician couple from Chicago, Jutta Distler and Terran Doehrer paid us a visit this year again. This time we had a joint musical event with the pupils and teachers of the local school in Porumbenii Mari. They played for us Danish, Greek, Jewish, Turkish, Serbian and Gipsy songs, then introduced us to circle dances of different folks.
The coming weeks will be filled with preparation for the Advent markets, with quiet creative activities, where the parents of our young people will join us too, so that we can tune into the mood of Christmas together.
With gratitude in our hearts for this past time, that gave us such precious
occasions, through which our young people could show their talents.

Autumn 2024
Our new-build day centre is rising from the ground thanks to funding from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (Ministerul Muncii si Solidaritatii Sociale) and grants from Michael Stiftung, and Software AG – Stiftung. Our young people are fascinated as the trucks roll in, the skeleton is filled with concrete and the rooms take shape. The building is expected to be finished in September 2025. Thanks for putting your trust in us.
Fundraising for staff and revenue costs was of great concern over the winter but thanks to support from Michael Stiftung, Loch Arthur Camphill Community and the Duff foundation we made it to the spring. We are now receiving fees for beneficiaries at the centre, which means that we are moving towards sustainability. Thank you all.
We are inspected every month by inspectors from Harghita County. The feedback that we have received from the last four inspections is that we are providing excellent person-centred approaches and high quality care and support. This makes us feel very happy, as we move into the summer months.
We have been blessed by the Camphill Foundation UK and Ireland providing funding for vehicles for the day centre. This will ease the transport problems we have experienced over the winter, lessen the journey times for beneficiaries and reduce costs. Thank you so much.
Zsuzsa recently attended a really meaningful and high quality social therapy professionals meeting in the Netherlands. This gave her the opportunity for attending workshops, exchanging experiences and ideas, and learning new perspectives, all of which can be used to further build our team and to develop our young people.
We were represented by David Newbatt, at the Camphill Northern Region conference in Sweden recently. We hope to foster these relationships during the coming years.
The Day Centre's team has changed and been renewed with the arrival of spring. Kinga returned from almost two years of leave; we welcomed a new gardener in Margit and said goodbye to Mitko.
The sun is shining more, and the fresh greenery is drawing everyone out into the garden, where we can experience being surrounded by nature. We have started to use the garden shed/greenhouse provided by funds from the Camphill Social Fund. This is such a great benefit to the garden workshop. We are grateful. We all have a common interest in doing our part, whether it's improving the soil, pruning tree branches, making compost, weeding, sowing seeds, planting seedlings, or harvesting the first spring herbs. Hard-working hands are at work in the greenhouse, in the raised beds and in the open air.
The carnival season is something everyone has been looking forward to. Together with the charity "Providence" and the placement centre for severely disabled children, we organized a big party, where we all had the chance to get out of our own skin and dress up in costumes to chase away the winter. It's all fun and games when it's carnival time, but also a time for renewing important contacts and working together for the benefit of young people and their families.
Our hearts are grateful when we think of the beautiful relationships we are building within the local community. The V-VII classes of the Kányádi Sándor Primary School hosted us under the banner "Our similarities unite, our differences enrich...", where we were treated to a play, singing and games. The fellowship was deeply imbued with attention, help, interest and pure love. We truly wish that this beautiful bond between us will continue and deepen.
Speaking of Spring, we should mention that we also had a really lively Picnic Mayfest, hosted by the Caring in Székelykeresztúr. There was everything to please the eyes, good conversation, singing, laughter, really good time together to recharge.
As a result of our autumn fundraising event Run For It, we were able to complete a 25-metre wicker fence. We would like to thank the Odorheiu Secuiesc Community Fund for making this possible.
At the beginning of this year, we rejoined the Campaign For People to donate 3.5% of income tax. Thank you to all those who have done this for us.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported us in any way over the past period and especially those mentioned in this newsletter.

Spring 2024
The quiet of winter is replaced by the bustle of spring with small but confident and significant steps. The wheel of the year turns, and with each new seasonal change, it pauses for a moment to look back at what it leaves behind, before time gives way to a new beginning. In our spring newsletter, we capture the essence of Spring with it’s sense of renewal, showing the vibrant changes that have been brought about which will nourish our future.
The last few months have felt like a warm gift, wrapped and tied with a bow. When one believes in something with clarity and a pure spirit, then it seems that mountains can be moved just with a smile, with an open palm or with a clear look, as we hope you will see below:
Looking back all the way to the autumn harvest already feels nostalgic. Playful apple picking, smiling over large tomatoes, searching for hidden nuts, pressing grapes, enjoying a harvest meal, thanksgiving, making preserves, trying new recipes, zipped up coats and a natural palette of colours. Week after week of making apple and grape juice, currant jelly, spiced apple jam, compote, chutney, and delicious cakes. And them finally, we celebrated the end of autumn with a wine harvest ball.
In October, we took part in our second exciting “Run FOR IT” fundraising event, where we were indescribably proud of our young people who run and tricycled with all their might! The preparation and fundraising period were as rewarding as the event itself. The extraordinary presence and dedication of the parents made it a real team effort and similarly to last year, we exceeded our target amount. The money raised will help fund the improvement of our garden, by building a wicker fence and a garden tool store. The garden itself is shaping up beautifully and will provide many therapeutic opportunities for our work with our young people. We are grateful for this.
It is with great anticipation that this multifunctional garden building is in the pipeline. It will serve as a tool store, a herb dryer and a propagation greenhouse. It will be a feast for the eyes and is already a delight for the soul to know that it will be ready for use in the spring.
We had a fantastic music and dance event with the Chicago duo Hi-Dukes & Jutta. They impressed us in many languages, but most of all in the language of their magical music. We have been talking about our wonderful experience with them ever since.
Thanks to our cooperation with the Iris House in Sfântu Gheorghe, we learned about a great initiative of the Diakonia Christian Foundation. The project aims to create opportunities for people with disabilities to get involved in local Christian programmes, meeting people of different ages. We took part in the Bible week on one of the days, when a Service with communion was shared. Following this and we created a large, felted picture together with the young people of the village that is now hanging in the church. We also made Advent wreaths with local pupils for the elderly in the village and built a beautiful wheelchair accessible walkway to the Kantorlak. We now really enjoying the monthly Bible studies and talks given by the Reform pastor Botond Rátoni, which are also part of the project. Since our engagement with the project, have participated in a meaningful series of programmes that have helped us to take the first step towards introducing our young people with disabilities to the Christian community, and we look forward to creating more such opportunities in the future.
Another highlight was the visit of the painter and teacher David Newbatt from Scotland, and this still lives very vividly in us. Our pictures, painted with his guidance, are now decorating the walls of our weavery. Accompanied by his storytelling, painting with him became an inner journey. He taught us not only to paint, but to listen to ourselves.
Now we are busy with our preparations for the Christmas markets. We will be selling the products, so dear to our hearts, that have been shaped by the hands of our young people throughout the year. They are the fruits of concentrated work, many, many tries and re-tries, perseverance, attention, patience and love.
Thank you very much for your year-long interest, kind gestures, enquiries, questions, donations, and continued support.
From us all at Három Galamb, we wish you a joyful Christmas and
A happy New Year!

A tavalyi Fuss NEKI adománygyűjtő esemény támogatásából létrejött eredmény beszámolója, röviden:

Since our last newsletter so much has happened: we moved into the old Cantor House of Kisgalambfalva, have achieved a provisional licence and received over £3,000 from a generous decision of one of our Trustees who suggested to their family and friends that instead of giving presents at their Birthday Ceilidh, they would give donations to our project, and over £2,000 from another Trustee who donated their consultancy fee earned when supporting another initiative.
You can keep fully up to date with our activities by following us on Facebook (Három Galamb Egyesület: https://bit.ly/3BWIR2b ) and/or by subscribing to our newsletter through our website (www.haromgalamb.com ). Thank you for your continued support, Zsuzsa, Project manager.
More than a year ago we were offered the old Cantor House of Kisgalambfalva thanks to the generosity of the Reformed Church Community, and just after Easter this year we finally moved in, thus achieving a milestone in our community development - and the excitement was tangible!!
Many kind helpers contributed greatly to this moment, and we wish to specifically thank:
The Laminker Centre in Székelykeresztr for the materials and furniture for our kitchen (https://www.facebook.com/laminker) and
Ivan Mihaly, the father of one of our young adults, who then built our kitchen,
Barna Bajcsi, also a father, who plastered the walls,
László Putz and Tamás Putz for the plumbing work,
Parents who joined the preparation with their tools, cleaned, offered advice and especially their enthusiasm to achieve the desired goal. It was a true joint venture.
Our young people were equally active in the process from the beginning, waiting with the same anticipation and wondering how we could turn the old building into a lively, cosy little workshop and make it our own. Together with others they cleaned and packed everything so we could make the move.
We have now had the first workshop sessions in the new building, and it feels so homely and welcoming.
.Having finally met all the relevant criteria to operate a Day Service, we have now received our provisional licence which makes it possible for us to charge the referring Council a fee for the service we provide for the young adults we accompany. This is another important step along our path to becoming a locally recognised and a sustainable project
Donations
With the donations received since the last newsletter we are now financially viable until the end of August giving us more time to acquire secure funding.
Should you wish to donate a regular amount or on a one-off amount, please scan the QR code below or go troough our website – and please don’t forget to click the gift aid box if appropriate.
We need more Trustees!
Harom Galamb Scotland is seeking to increase the number of Trustees and in particular we are looking for people with skills in PR/Communications, fund raising and finance. If joining us is something that may be of interest to you, please contact Laurence Alfred on lm.v.alfred@gmail.com Thank you.

Spring 2023
Enriching lives, Unfolding Potential, Becoming Active Citizens
We started the New Year with a new addition to the Community when, following some visits, Enikő joined us and she adds new colour to our Community,
Enikő enjoys good company, conversations, friends and being engaged with valuable tasks. She is the oldest of our young adults and brings humour and laughter to our lives.
Our main activity on Mondays is baking; it involves buying the ingredients, measuring and preparing the dough until we get to the point where we take our newly baked fragrant hot cakes out of the oven.
We measure, knead, cut, shape, brush, spray, pack, count, categorize, and more. In the end we taste a sample for quality control, and all being well are satisfied with our work!
We bake a lot of different kinds of bread, cakes and biscuits, and now we are starting a new baking project.
We enjoyed a lovely boisterous Carnival to the delight of the young adults of the Gondviselés Aid Organization and the Centre for Placement for Children with Severe Disabilities who joined us for the festivities.
We had fun dancing and playing various ball games in a fantastic atmosphere. It was a pleasure to be together again with all these lovely young people.
Early in March, volunteers from the Youth Association from Transylvania (thank you!) joined us and started the spring work in our garden. They helped to prepare the greenhouse so that soon our young adults can see the seeds and seedlings we planted and learn to care for them. Following this, they also helped us to prepare the cold frames ready for planting.
While we love to use our ‘Little Blue House’, we are growing in numbers as more people come to join us.
Therefor we are glad that the renovation of the old Cantor House of Kisgalambfalva which has been under way for some time, will allow us to soon transfer our activities and programs there, and give us more space. We have renovated two large rooms, bathrooms and a spacious yard and look forward to seeing this space come alive.
The Cantor House is located at walking distance from Harom Galamb, which allows us an opportunity to walk between our baking-cooking, weaving activities and garden work, and supports us being further immersed into the life of the local village.
In the meantime, we have received kind donations and offers of a stove, fridge, furniture, materials for a kitchen corner, rugs and cleaning equipment.
Thank you very much for these and for all the voluntary, selfless work which really helped us.
We are still accepting donations (both material donations and financial support) for the following items:
Laying the 12-metre pavement: materials and manpower
Two energy saving radiators while our central heating is being installed.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Reformed Church Community of Kisgalambfalva for allowing us to use the building and for supporting us in our building work.
Tuesdays are centred around the activity of weaving and in the New Year we welcomed our young adults back after the holidays with new colours to work with.
Some are learning basic skills while others are well into the complexities of weaving for example changing the shaft and pushing the shuttle through, … tasks that sound so simple but ones which require fine motor skills, concentration, coordination, and precision.
This old, traditional handcraft is an incredibly rich, nourishing therapeutic activity and we just love our weaving day.

Winter Newsletter 2022
Dear Readers,
With great excitement, we participated in Christmas markets in Székelykeresztúr and Székelyudvarhely on the same day. We came with beautiful products, and were proud of our young people, their parents who were very enthusiastic about getting involved with their own creativity, and our volunteers. We brought weavings, bookmarks, felt fairies, pincushions, mint tea, waxed canvas, painted spice and candle holders, textile sewn snipe candy, and lots of cheer and enthusiasm.
Thank you to our young people, their parents, volunteers and supporters.
Photo
We also visited the Gyárfás Mansion, where we made Advent decorations, talked, sang, and had lunch together with the severely disabled children and their carers, as well as with the young disabled people from Miklósfalv and Boldogfalv. We shared our thoughts and Christmas ideas; it was a really good opportunity to meet.
Thursday mornings continue to be filled with folk dance sessions. On the International Day of Tolerance, the 3rd grade students of the Berde Moses Unitarian High School visited us and danced with us, singing funny folk songs and on Santa Claus day, the 7th grade students and their teachers delighted our young people with a giant Christmas card they had made, Santa Claus packages, Christmas songs and games.
In addition, there was also a nativity scene, presented to us by Olga Kincses, a folk dance instructor, in a fairytale-like way.
During the early winter we completed 137m of fencing, made possible by the money donated to us during the Fuss NEKI fundraising event, for which we are once again grateful to our generous supporters and ambassadors alike. We are very pleased with its completion. A further 75 m of fencing was erected with a grant from the Bethlen Gábor Fund. Our organic garden is now protected from uninvited visits by wild animals and sheepdogs.
In recent weeks, the yard has been buzzing with the noise of construction machinery as we saw the foundation of our own Day Care Centre being poured, which is a really big step in our development and expansion.
In the meantime, the work at the church, where we would like to move our day service until our own building is complete, is nearly finished. Thank you for the work undertaken by Barna Bajcsi, Ágink's father, István Dezső, Lehel Szappanyos, László Putz and László Kecseti, who all gave their time and energy meaning we are getting closer to moving in.
Finally, I would like to share that a wonderful brochure about Harom Galamb also been produced, for the time being in English. Our thanks to the Trustees of Harom Galamb Scotland. Click on the link to "flip through", welcome. http://bit.ly/3OUNC2o
With fond memories of 2022, we will now take a short holiday to celebrate Christmas and then, in January, we will be recharged and ready to resume the work we have started.
Folyamatosan dolgozunk a termőtalaj természetes módszerekkel való feljavításán.
A kerítés ebben is hozzájárul a termékeink megvédéséhez.
A BETHLEN GÁBOR ALAP TÁMOGATÁSÁVAL FÓLIÁT KAPTAK A HÁROM GALAMB EGYESÜLET FIATALJAI - KÖSZÖNJÜK!
A fólia felállítására a Három Galamb kertjében került sor. A fólia egy komplexebb infrastrukturális fejlesztés része. A Három Galamb kertjének részét képező domboldal ez év tavasza során teraszosításra került, ahol a zöldség és gyümölcstermesztés helye lesz. Ehhez kapcsolódóan kiépítésre került egy öntözőrendszer, amelyet a birtokon található 2 kút táplál. Ezen teraszok aljában kapott helyet az új fólia.
A fólia felállítására önkéntes erővel, kaláka formájában került sor.
Az ennek szerves részét képező kerti tevékenységeket terápiás, fejlesztő céllal alkalmazzuk, ahol a tartalmas, valós igényt szolgáló munka, a hagyományőrzés, a szépség, a természetes anyagok használata, a termőföld védelme, gazdagítása, a helyi közösségi életbe való bekapcsolódás, alapértékek. A fólia ennek a nagyobb egésznek képezi részét.
A kertgazdálkodás továbbfejlesztése fontos alappillére az anyagi fenntarthatósági modellnek, amelyet szervezetünk követni kíván. A fólia lehetővé teszi a mezőgazdasági szezon korábbi elindítását és ősszel további folytatását. A fóliában palántáinkat magunk termeszthetjük, ezáltal is kisebb befektetéssel termelve zöldségeinket. A következő mezőgazdasági évben már bevételt generálhatunk a kerti tevékenységeinkből, ezáltal haladva a fenntarthatósági célunk elérése felé.
Jelenleg 7 fiatal jár rendszeres heti foglalkoztatásra a Három Galamb nappali program keretében, akik szüleik gondozásában otthon élnek.
Hosszútávon ezek a számok nőni fognak. Mindemellett a régió magyar közösségének piaca további helyi organikus termékekkel bővül, melyek a termőföld védelmével, a környezetvédelemre való odafigyeléssel, a hagyományos székely háztáji gazdálkodás ápolásával születnek.
SZEREPCSERE
Carnival
This year we had a nice celebration of Carnival with the Gondviselés Aid Organization in Cristuru-Secuiesc. The youngsters and their families participated. There was singing, dancing and playing fun games. We all changed our identity for a while: there were policewoman, Dalmatian dog, wolf, clown, witch and so on. We had space for talking with each other, and enjoying a cup of tea and some sweet treats.
Our partnership with the Gondviselés right from the beginning has brought a lot of fruits. We are grateful for all the shared events, activities, connections and expertise.
You can visit their Facebook page to see more of their activities:
Christmas Market 2021
One of the events of 2021 was the Christmas Market in the town of Cristuru-Secuiesc. The team of Három Galamb with its young adults had a magical winter experience here. Before the days of the Market we prepared many handmade products with the young adults, parents and volunteers: postcards, baby Jesus in a walnut crib, felted soaps, and beeswax wraps. It was a big pleasure going to the Market and showing the table clothes we wove in our workshop. The big variety of colors made our stall very beautiful. We can say that every bystander said a few nice words seeing the results of our work.
